Silver in Nail Products – Important Update

Silver in Nail Products – Important Update

In EU cosmetics, “silver” does not refer to a colour, but to a specific ingredient silver used in some cosmetic products, including certain gel nail polishes.

Silver is commonly used in some glitter, shimmer, and special-effect gel polishes to achieve reflective or metallic finishes. Under updated EU cosmetic regulations, the use of silver in nail products will change from 1 May 2026.

How this affects my press-on nails

Some of my press-on nail designs are created using silver-based gel polishes.

This does not affect all designs — only specific shades and finishes that contain silver as an ingredient.

Availability

Press-on nail sets made with these silver-based polishes will remain available while current stock lasts, up until May 2026.

As each set is handcrafted, every design is unique. Once a silver-based polish is no longer available, the original shade cannot be recreated exactly.

Going forward

Where possible, I may recreate designs in similar tones using alternative, EU-compliant gel polishes.

Original silver-based shades will only return if equivalent products become available and are permitted under EU regulations.

All designs made without silver-based gel polishes are not affected.

Thank you for your understanding and for supporting handmade, luxury press-on nails.
